Gender Reveal

I am SO excited to announce that one of my good friends is a mommy-to-be!
This is my first friend to be having a baby and I am STOKED
I'm sure the mommy-to-be is both excited and nervous so, I'm trying to be the best friend I can be and help in whatever way her they need! I called, begged, reminded, and showed I was serious about helping out.
AND GUESS WHAT?!
SHE LET BUILT FROM ASHES DO THE GENDER REVEAL!

I
WAS
SO
EXCITED!
like,
really excited.

Anyway, she didn't give us much time for planning. She decided to have the party on a Friday, we found out the gender that Thursday and the party were to be that Sunday! So we really had to get right on it! we had a little over a week.

Wanna know how we did it?

Pinterest was my best friend that week. We found so many cute ideas from Pinners all over. We couldn't have done this without it.

First we started with invitations. We found some online and made a private facebook group. It was actually way more organized and worked with the last minute planning.

First-day shopping, I came home with all this awesome stuff, ready to craft!

Oh, Baby!

I started by making my super cute flags!
All I did was trace the size I wanted using a ruler for accurate measurements and once I had one, all I did was trace to make more of the exact same size! I used black poster paper.

Next, I painted clothes pins, half pink, half blue. They, of course, had to be finished off in little bows made of ribbon. This didn't take too long and was a cute touch. The colors made it more noticeable as people wore them.
I put up lots of little chalkboards and decorated mason jars that I got from AC Moore for like $1 each, plus my student discount, they were super inexpensive.

I tied bows and painted the mason jars. On the chalk boards I wrote all little cute expressions that related to the theme of Blue or Pink, What do you think?

We had lots of little snacks that fit our theme such as these cute little M&M's/ Peanut M&Ms.

Of course, I had to make HE (colored in blue) SHE (colored in pink) HERSHEYS!

(Although I forgot to photograph) We did not forget to make blue and pink chocolate covered strawberries and pretzels (both with white sprinkles!).

SELFIE!

I also put together a totally cute selfie station!
I used blue and pink streamers against the white fence with some dollar store decorations, along with my oh baby flags!

It was used for a cute backdrop to everyone's selfies, and it was where the mother-to-be found out the gender of her child!

So for the reveal board, I carefully filled 5 balloons with flour, and one with paint corresponding to the gender of the baby.

Notice the cup full of cute accessories to use at the station! I had blue sunglasses, a mustache, pink lips, a bedazzled crown, and more!

Now, now, let's not forget baby's first pics!
For this, it was super nice of my friend to trust me with her beloved ultrasound pictures until the day of the reveal.
All I did for this was take a frame, added a piece of poster paper for everyone to sign their guess and write any personal messages they wish in the color of the gender they think the baby will be.
And ya never know, it could end up being the first decoration in the baby's room!

Lets talk PARTY!

It was a great time, to be honest. Everyone brought a dish or some type of dessert. There was cake pops, empanadas, mac and cheese, burgers, hot dogs, bbq, and so much more! It worked out great. There were just enough people there that it wasn't too big of an event but just enough that nobody was left out. It was hosted at the father-to-be with a pool for everyone to enjoy. Great for the kiddies who came!

I made Pink and Blue punches for everyone and they were certainly a hit as well!
I used Pink Lemonade and Sprite for the girlie one, and Blue Hawaiian Punch with some berries in the boyish one. (I also thought about Blue Gatorade might be good!)

Let's Get to the Reveal!

IT'S A GIRL!!!! 💝

I am STOKED!!!

(I gave this a trial run with my little brother before bringing it, just to make sure the flour and paint popped just as I wanted it to).

The parents-to-be seemed overwhelmed with joy!
Look at them!
How cute?!

All in all, it was a great time had by all.
I am so overwhelmed with happiness for the two parents-to-be along with the fact they let me throw this awesome reveal party for them. I feel so honored to get to have been able to do this for them and I can not wait to meet the little girl!
SO EXCITING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had SO much fun planning this and I really didn't spend too much money.
Crafting on a budget is what I like to call it.
The key is, make everything you can yourself!
